Colorado Springs Students Examine Usage of Unmanned Aerial Systems

Four Webster graduate Space Systems Operations Management (SPSM) students at Colorado Springs are supporting practical research on the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) during state emergencies. Additionally, the students are producing a smart book detailing Colorado based UAS asset technical capabilities, and will draft a proposed concept of operations streamlining the handoff of UAS lifesaving assets from city, county, state and federal incident commanders.

Mess Becomes SLIAC's 1st-Ever Scholar All-American

Webster University senior media communications major Ashley Mess was named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) 2015 Scholar All-American, becoming the first women's soccer player in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) history to earn the distinction. The honor is selected from among more than 700 schools.

Athens in RIEAS Panel on Security, Intelligence in Greece

Webster Athens participated in a book presentation organized by the Research Institute for European and American Studies. The concepts in the book, "National Security and Contemporary Intelligence Services in Greece," were discussed by author Joseph Fitsanakis of Coastal Carolina University, ambassador Col. Adam Kavlick, ESTIA managing editor Costas Papachlimintzos, ambassador and former Greek Intelligence Service director Ioannis Corantis, Potamos Publishing's Costas Papadopoulos, and Webster Athens' John Nomikos and Antonio Dimou.

RAD Conference Showcases Student Research

December 16, 2015

The fall Research Across Disciplines conference brought students from Webster and other St. Louis-area universities to campus for several days showcasing undergraduate research. The growing conference combined posters, oral and creative presentations and roundtable discussions to give these students valuable experience in communicating the findings of their research. The next conference will be April 29-30, with a submission deadline of March 12.
