Webster Ranked Among Best in the Nation by US News and World Report

ST. LOUIS – Webster University was recognized as among the best universities in the Midwest by U.S. News and World Report in its “America’s Best Colleges 2016” list, released on Wednesday. Webster also was recognized as among the best universities for veterans and for having one of the best study abroad programs in the country.

On this year’s rankings, Webster University continues as a Tier 1 institution, ranking 26th in the “Regional University-Midwest category and, for the seventh consecutive year, first in its class in the St. Louis area. The rankings also recognized Webster as among the best universities and colleges in the United States for veterans, coming in at 23rd. In addition, Webster University was ranked among the 33 best study abroad programs, out of the 618 schools included on this year’s list. This is the ninth time that Webster University’s study abroad programs were cited as among the best in the nation.

Webster University also was ranked by U.S. News and World Report among the 147 Midwest colleges and universities in several other categories, including:

  • Economic Diversity (26th)
  • Highest Proportion of Classes with Fewer than 20 Students (3rd)
  • Highest 6-year Graduation Rate (20th)
  • Freshman Retention (32nd)
  • Campus Ethnic Diversity (51st)
  • Need Based Awards (57th, with an average award of $18,287 per student)
  • A-Plus Schools for B Students (26th)

This year’s rankings also called out previous rankings earned by Webster University, including best online MBA program, best online graduate business program, best online graduate education program, and best nursing schools. Those rankings were issued earlier this year by U.S. News and World Report. This wasn’t the only ranking earned by Webster University this week. On Wednesday, Webster University was named as having one of the best online programs in Missouri by the website AffordableCollegesOnline.com.
