Draft of 2016-17 Academic Catalogs Online Beginning April 1

In order to help students and their advisors plan for Fall classes, draft versions of the 2016-17 Graduate Studies Catalog and Undergraduate Studies Catalog have been posted online.

They will stay in draft mode until the catalogs become effective on June 1.

Departments are strongly urged to review content for accuracy and to notify DeLyle Bowen in the Office of Academic Affairs of any errors.

Undergraduate Studies Catalog

New Majors

  • Art (BFA) with and emphasis in Illustration
  • Computer Science (BS) with an emphasis in Cybersecurity
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Film, Television and Video Production (BA)
  • General Studies
  • Bachelor of Music (BM) Musical Direction for Musical Theatre
  •  Professional Writing (BA)
  • Sports Communication (BA)

Revised Majors

  • Education (BA): emphases have been updated and re-named
  • Philosophy (BA) removed emphasis in Ethics & Society; added emphases in Art & Creativity; Ethics & Social Justice; and Individualized Emphasis
  • Several majors in the Electronic and Photographic Media Department have made minor changes to reflect the creation of the new Film, Television and Video Production major

Deleted Majors

  • Film Production and Video Production have been combined to form the new BA in Film, Television and Video Production and no longer are offered separately

New Minor

  •  Film, Television and Video Production

New Certificates

  • Global Education
  •  Illustration

New Course Prefixes

  • CSSS – Cybersecurity
  •  FTVP – Film, Television and Video Production
  • SPTC – Sports Communication
