Legislative Advocacy Day

Graduate students in the Professional Orientation and Ethical Practice class traveled to the Missouri state capital for Legislative Advocacy Day on Feb. 23, organized by Missouri Mental Health Counselor Association (MMHCA).

The MMHCA Student Legislative Advocacy Day is an opportunity for students to meet legislators that are making decisions in regards to licensed professional counselors (PLPCs and LPCs). It also gives legislators a chance to meet future LPCs and hear their concerns and support related to legislation presenting the profession of counseling.

Also during the Legislative Advocacy Day, students had guided tours of the Missouri State Capitol building and met their representatives and legislators.
