Band and String Students Encouraged to Apply for CMS
CMS orchestras and ensembles provide opportunities to participate in multiple performance programs

Band and string students ages seven through high school are encouraged to apply and audition for the Community Music School (CMS) of Webster University's orchestras or ensembles, including String Ensemble, String Orchestra, Young People's Concert Orchestra, Young People's Symphonic Orchestra, Music Today!, Preparatory Program (chamber music), and Percussion Ensemble.

The CMS provides opportunities to participate in multiple performances. These programs are structured to enhance students' skills beyond individual performance and to support the education process in school music programs. Orchestras and ensembles rehearse weekly at the Community Music School's headquarters at 535 Garden Avenue in Webster Groves. 

Application Information

2017-2018 audition applications for the 2017-2018 orchestras and ensembles are currently being accepted. Requirements, applications and deadlines are available online at the Community Music School website under resources for prospective students. Application deadlines begin as early as May 12 and July 28.
