Webster Conservatory Presents 'As You Like It' Nov. 15–19
Shows begin Nov. 15 in the Browning Mainstage Theatre

The Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University presents "As You Like It," Nov. 15-19, with performances at 7:30 p.m. (2 p.m. on Sundays).  There will also be a special event Thursday, Nov. 16, celebrating 50 years of Shakespeare at Webster University's Conservatory of Theatre Arts.

Synopsis

When your life is at risk and you flee court to find refuge in the woods, it’s good to have a clown along. Stepping into the magical Forest of Arden with the philosophical fool Touchstone and her cousin Celia, Rosalind disguises herself as a young man and takes a walk into self-discovery. In this brave new world, she finds other court exiles - and the man she loves! Falling in love and learning who you are by acting the part are at the heart of this charming production in which romantic playfulness builds to a woodland wedding extravaganza.

Special Event Thursday, Nov. 16

Let’s celebrate 50 years of Shakespeare at Webster University's Conservatory of Theatre Arts! Join us for a pre-show toast (7 p.m.) and a performance of AS YOU LIKE IT (7:30 p.m.) on Thursday, Nov. 16, to mark the Conservatory’s 50th anniversary and its partnership with Shakespeare Festival St. Louis (SFSTL). This special performance will be followed by a short post-show conversation co-sponsored by SFSTL, featuring SFSTL playwright in residence Nancy Bell, professor Anne McIlhaney, and SFSTL interim producing director Jenny Wintzer.
