Teacher Education Showcase Held for Prospective STLCC Students

The Department of Teacher Education and the Office of Admission transfer team partnered to hold a special event on Nov. 2 for students at St. Louis Community College (STLCC) interested in pursuing a degree in teacher education.

Held on the Webster Groves campus, guests enjoyed an intimate conversation with professors, staff, and students from the department. The visiting students also had the opportunity to interact with some of the materials featured in Webster’s ‘Makerspace’ resource room.

While on campus, the STLCC students learned more about the offerings and degrees leading to teacher certification, Webster's interactive approach to teaching and learning, available transfer scholarships and the various resources available to support their success, including the Student Literacy Corps.

Webster University recently signed onto the statewide articulation agreement for the Associate of Arts in Teaching and developed a transfer guide for STLCC students interested in transferring to Webster. This guide helps to ensure a seamless transfer for students from the community college to the university.

studentsStudents from Saint Louis Community College were able to interact with various resources Webster has to offer future educators, including staff and students who can give them insight into available programs.
