Freshman Writing Award Nominations Open
Submissions are due by Friday, Feb. 23

Nominations for the 2017-18 Freshman Writing Award are now open to all students who wrote papers as first semester freshmen. The Freshman Writing Award honors excellence and originality in first-semester student writing.

Nominations will be accepted from instructors or students until Friday, Feb. 23, at 5 p.m. Honorees will be named at the Freshman Writing Award Luncheon and Ceremony, to be held Friday, April 13, from 12-1 p.m.

Submission Requirements:

  • May be in any genre
  • Must have been written for a class during the Fall 2017 semester
  • Must be a minimum of 500 words long
  • Must be written in English

This year a $125 grant will be awarded to the first place winner.
