Webster Conservatory Presents 'Men on Boats' Feb. 14-18, 21-25
Running Feb. 14-25 in the Emerson Studio Theatre. Call 314-968-7128 for tickets.

The Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University presents the adventure comedy "Men on Boats," where a group of 10 women reenact a wild 1869 river rafting expedition.

In 1869, one-armed explorer John Wesley Powell and his crew of nine men in four boats went down the Colorado River into the Grand Canyon, not knowing what lay ahead. This great adventure is reenacted by 10 women —- the rapids, the rations, and the ride of their lives.

An ingenious, hilarious, and brilliant new play, Men On Boats brings to life the true(ish) history of an 1869 expedition like you have never seen it before.

“[MEN ON BOATS] is marvelously destabilizing both as history and theater. The stalwartness and selfishness of the adventurers—their cockiness and cluelessness—become biting satire when sent up by women." —New York Magazine
