Four Webster Students Win 2019 Press Club Scholarships

Four Webster University School of Communications students were among the 15 students who won 2019 media scholarships from the St. Louis Press Club.

The awards were presented at a May 31 luncheon at the Missouri Athletic Club sponsored by the local press club for the St. Louis region.

During the last 30 years, the St. Louis Press Club has awarded more than a $500 thousand dollars in scholarships. School of Communications students have received many of these scholarships over the years.

The 2019 scholarship recipients from Webster University and the scholarships they received include:

  • Emma Bright of Maplewood, Missouri, a senior studying film, television and video production, who won the $2,000 Neiman Marcus Media Scholarship
  • Aly Camacho of St. Louis, Missouri, a senior studying photography, who won the $1,500 Karl Heinz & Doris Finzel Photojournalism Scholarship
  • Julia Peschel of House Springs, Missouri, a senior studying photography, who won the $1,000 St. Louis Press Club Intern Scholarship
  • McKenzie Magnus of Carlyle, Illinois, a graduate student studying new media production, who won the $1,000 Webster-Kirkwood Times/Webster University Scholarship
