28 Gorlok Student-Athletes Named to SLIAC Spring All-Academic Team 

Webster University placed 28 student-athletes on the 2019 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Spring All-Academic Team on Thursday. The 28 student-athletes selected were tied for second most among the league's 10 member institutions as Greenville had the most total selections with 48, while Principia tied Webster with 28 selections.

The 2019 SLIAC Spring All-Academic team has a total of 192 student-athletes from around the conference. In order to earn All-Academic Team honors a student-athlete must hold a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore in academic standing and have been enrolled in at least one full year at their current institution.

The Gorloks baseball team had nine players selected, while the women's track and field team was second with six selections. The men's track and field and women's tennis teams each had four student-athletes selected, the men's golf and men's tennis teams each had two selections and the softball team had one player honored.

Webster had a total of 57 student-athletes named SLIAC All-Academic Team selections in 2018-19 as the Gorloks had 28 honorees in the fall, one honoree in the winter and 28 honorees this spring.
In addition to having 57 student-athletes named to the SLIAC All-Academic Team this year, Webster also had three student-athletes earn CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District honors in 2018-19 as junior pitcher Matt Mulhearn was honored in baseball and seniors Anna Grobelny and Dimitrije Mitic were honored in women's and men's track/cross country.
Four of the 28 spring SLIAC All-Academic honorees were recognized for a second time this year as sophomore Nathan Freyling, junior Meredith Sowers, sophomore Kaleigh Finney were recognized during the fall as Freyling and Sowers were honored for cross country and Finney was selected in women's soccer and senior Vladimir Radojkovic was honored in men's basketball during the winter. In addition, 12 of the 28 spring honorees are repeat selections from a season ago and Grobelny was honored in the spring of 2017.
Three of this year's selections have earned SLIAC Spring All-Academic Team honors the past three years and those three student-athletes are Mitic and senior women's tennis players Sara Rice and Madison Watts.
