"No More Babies" (above, left) won the Gorlok Dash, one of the races at Webster University's annual alumni event at the famous Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.

On Saturday, June 10, alumni, faculty and staff gathered together for an afternoon of horseracing fun at the annual Churchill Downs event in Louisville, Kentucky.

Over 100 representatives of the Webster community attended, including alumni from Florida, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Tennessee, in addition to those from the Louisville Chapter. Sister Barbara Nicholas (BA ’65) and several other Sisters of Loretto were also in attendance.

As in years past, Webster sponsored one of the races, the "Webster University 2017 Gorlok Dash." No More Babies, a horse named by the owner’s young child who was vehemently against adding any more siblings to the family at the time the filly was born, took the winning title.

Louisville Chapter leader Ann Harbeson, George Herbert Walker School of Business & Technology dean Simone Cummings, and nine other alumni were invited down to watch the race and get their photo taken with No More Babies after the race had concluded.
