2017 Homecoming Spotlight: Lightning Talks

Lightning Talk presenters
Lightning Talks are short presentations on various topics by Webster University alumni, faculty and students. Alumni from a few of Webster’s extended campuses will also be presenting and participating in the conversations through Genie Cast conference technology.

Webster University alumni, parents, students, family, friends and the community are invited to the Webster Groves campus for Homecoming: Reunion & Family Weekend on Sept. 15 & 16, 2017.

Lightning Talks

An annual Homecoming event, Lightning Talks includes short presentations on various topics by alumni, students and faculty.

This year’s event will be emceed by School of Communications alumnus and executive vice president of GenieCast, Doug Hall (BA ’97). New to this year’s program, by utilizing the two-way conference technology of GenieCast, alumni from a few of Webster’s extended campuses will also be presenting and participating in the conversations, allowing for a truly global experience among the Webster community. Refreshments at the main campus are sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences.

  • Robert Good (MBA '99), senior vice president of Commercial Lending (Space Coast, Florida)
  • Patricia Eastman, adjunct professor, Pianos for the People
  • Lisa Camp and Scott Lunte (Class of 2018), Global Student Leadership Summit
  • Tyler Holman (BA '11), business development and political analyst
  • Tony Wallner - Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences
  • Vladimir Ivkovic, PhD (BA '99), researcher, Portable Brain Imaging

2017 Homecoming: Reunion and Family Weekend

In addition to the Lightning Talk presentations, a few of the weekend’s highlights include a celebration for the University Center's 25th anniversary and the Shop, Rock & Glow Festival. Other scheduled events include Yoga on the Quad, a tribute to Patricia McKissack (MA ’75), Siblings’ Night, volleyball and soccer matches, various receptions, alumni reunions and gallery exhibits.
