Whirligig
Webster alumni had the opportunity to meet with Butz after the
performance

On Friday, June 2, Peter Sargent, dean of the Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts welcomed Webster alumni to a special performance of “The Whirligig” at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre in New York City.

Alumni came from near and far to see fellow alumnus Norbert Leo Butz, BFA ’90, who starred in the world premiere. A private meet-and-greet with Butz took place after the performance.

Written by Hamish Linklater and directed by Scott Elliott, “The Whirligig” conveys the story of a fractured community that is deeply intertwined in tragedy. The production, which ran from May 4-June 18, was presented by The New Group in association with Lisa Matlin.
