Remembering Dorothy Henderson Heagney ’39
Dorothy Henderson Heagney '39

The Webster University community mourns the passing of Dorothy Henderson Heagney '39, a longtime supporter and proud Webster alumna.

She was a lifelong learner and "Webster" to the core: She was a longtime resident of Webster Groves, life-long member of Holy Redeemer Church, and graduate of Nerinx Hall High School, which is next door to Webster University and likewise founded by the Sisters of Loretto.

Henderson Heagney graduated from Webster with a bachelor’s degree in speech in 1939. A lover of theater, opera and the symphony, she frequently attended performances at Opera Theatre and the Repertory Theatre, both of which call the Webster University campus home.

She was also a generous supporter of the 2002 Loretto-Hilton Expansion, which included renovations of the costume and scene shops, greenrooms, and dressing rooms.

A member of Webster University’s 1915 Society and Legacy Society giving societies and an Alumni Association volunteer, she also spread the appreciation of Webster to future generations: her grandson, Tom Heagney, received his bachelor’s degree in art from Webster in 2015.

More information on her life and services can be found here.
