Feb. 24, 2017
ST. LOUIS - Congratulations to the honorees at the The St. Louis American Foundation's 7th Annual Salute to Young Leaders Awards, held the evening of Feb. 23 in downtown St. Louis. Among the 20 honorees are four Webster University graduates.
Accompanied by Webster colleagues and alumni attending to celebrate the honorees, Webster University President Elizabeth (Beth) J. Stroble spoke on behalf of the university as an event sponsor. She noted that 20 percent of the honorees were Webster alumni and she celebrated all those who lift their voices for opportunity and equality.
“Webster is proud to partner with the St. Louis American in recognizing outstanding young leaders,” Stroble said. “The time is right to salute leadership, and the time is right for us to lead together.”
The four Webster University alumni who were honored Thursday are:
- Kimberly Hunt, a specialist business manager with AT&T. She earned a Master’s degree in Education and Innovation from the School of Education
- Christopher Miller, Manager of the F-15 Flight Sims Lab. He earned an MBA from the George Herbert Walker School of Business & Technology
- Dione Neal, professional sales representative for Astellas Pharmaceautical. She has a bachelor’s in broadcast journalism from the School of Communications and an MBA from the Walker School
- Kayla Thompson, CEO and founder of the Finesse Center and site coordinator for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater St. Louis. She holds a bachelor’s in cultural anthropology from the College of Arts & Sciences.
This isn’t the first time that Webster graduates have been honored at the prestigious ceremony. Last year also featured four Webster alumni, and every ceremony since the award was founded in 2010 has had at least one Webster graduate.
