See Webster Through Students' Eyes

ST. LOUIS – Whether they study in Webster Groves, Leiden, Geneva or all of the above, students select Webster University for a variety of reasons. For some it’s the national reputation of the Conservatory, for others it’s the chance to study on international campuses and for others it’s the opportunity to participate in athletics.

Each student has their own Webster University story and a new Instagram account is giving some the chance to show others their own unique Webster experience. Each week, a different student will take over the account and post photos of their classes, activities, job and everything else that makes up their unique Webster University experience. Students from the Webster Groves campus and other global campus locations will be posting photos throughout the semester.

“This account gives students the opportunity to tell the world what they’re doing and it allows everyone to see what their classmates are passionate about,” said Jennifer Starkey, media relations officer at Webster University. “We received a number of nominations from staff and faculty from around the world and the MyWebsterU account will be featuring students from St. Louis, Vienna, Leiden and Geneva throughout this semester.”

Students have enjoyed participating in the account during its first month. Araba Budu-Anguah is a senior at Webster University majoring in Biology. She is originally from Ghana and is studying in St. Louis.

“For the past four years, Webster has been my home away from home and the memories that I have made over here have been priceless,” said Budu-Anguah. “I want to keep them with me forever, which is why I am excited about the opportunity to capture and share my Webster experiences. Even when these moments are long gone, they will still be alive in pictures.”

The account will primarily feature the photos of undergraduate students during the Spring 2014 semester and during the Summer 2014 semester the account will highlight the experiences of graduate students from metropolitan campuses and military locations along with the online experiences of students from around the world.
