The opening of the garage expansion has been delayed for a week, due to a delay in the delivery of essential equipment. The garage is anticipated to open by the end of April. In other news, the trees in the new courtyard by Browning Hall will be planted next week, and crews will start working on the new landscaping for the front of the bookstore and garage.

The countdown is on for the completion of the Parking Garage Expansion. A ceremonial ribbon cutting for the event will be held in the garage at 11 a.m. April 20. The garage is expected to open by the end of April, provided the proper occupation permits are issued.

Power will be shut off to some buildings on campus Sunday for six hours while crews connect Browning Hall to the main power grid. Also, the garage is nearly complete and the countdown to the grand opening has begun.

Construction Update Feb 23 2017

February 23, 2017

This week, the two biggest Browning Hall tasks are the installation of the freight elevator, the start of the excavation for storm water pipes, and the removal of excavated earth related to the storm water piping work. The excavation for the storm water piping is expected to last through 2nd next week in March. The freight elevator was delivered earlier this week and the installation is expected to last through the third week of March.

A reminder to all students, faculty and staff: Parking Lot K will be closed Thursday through Sunday (Feb 9 - 12), and the Priest Building will be closed Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 11-12) so that crews can disassemble the Tower Crane. In other news, workers are putting together the final bay to the parking garage.

Lot K will be closed from Thursday, Feb. 9 through Sunday Feb. 12 so that the tower crane can be taken down. The Priest Building also will be closed on Feb. 11 and Feb. 12 for safety purposes. Work is continuing on the ISB and expanded parking garage.

All in the Webster University community are invited to give feedback Jan. 24 and 25 on the furniture under consideration for the new Interdisciplinary Science Building. At the ISB construction site, drywall continues to be placed and glass is being installed on the exterior. At the parking garage, crews have finished another bay, which will allow them to open up the parking spaces that were blocked off in the existing garage.

A drawing for attendance prizes will be held on both days at the ISB Furniture Fair on Jan. 24 and Jan. 25. The Webster University community is invited to attend. At the ISB construction site, glass continues to be installed on the exterior and work on the courtyard steps will begin in a week. At the garage expansion project, crews have fixed the alignment problem and are now quickly erecting the next section of the garage.

All students, faculty and staff are invited to visit the Furniture Fair in the Luhr Building on Jan. 24 and Jan. 25. Snacks will be offered and attendance prizes will be drawn at the end of each day. At the ISB construction site, glass is being installed on the exterior of the building and drywall is being installed on all four floors. At the garage, crews continue to quickly erect the structure.

Crews to Cut through First-Floor Wall of EAB during Holiday Break

December 21, 2016

When students, faculty, and staff return from the holiday break, Room 141 in the East Academic Building (EAB) will no longer exist. Instead, there will be a temporary wall where the door used to be. Behind that wall, work crews will be building the new connecting corridor that will link the EAB to the new Interdisciplinary Science Building. That new connection will be opened up immediately after the completion of the ISB, turning Room 141 – one of the least used spaces in the EAB – into Room 151 – one of the busiest spaces in the building.
