Academic Program Review and Prioritization

Five years ago, we completed a comprehensive Academic Program Review and Prioritization initiative to ensure we were continuously improving and strengthening our academic offerings. Because this was the first systematic Program Review at Webster, the scope of this project was large and included gathering baseline data on all undergraduate and graduate degrees and majors.

Deadline extended for current Starfish Early Term Progress Survey. Due to recent access issues to the Student Success Portal, powered by Starfish, the Early Term Progress Survey – Fall and Fall 1, 2018, which was set to expire at 11 p.m. CST on Monday, Sept. 17, has been extended to 11 p.m. CST on Friday, Sept. 21.

Faculty: Connect students to Academic Counseling

Academic Counseling is a service provided by the Academic Resource Center to all Webster University students across the worldwide Webster University community. It involves individual one-on-one sessions for students who would like to develop better organizational and learning strategies. The sessions can include one-time events or ongoing academic counseling and mentoring services.

Sverdrup Global Teaching Fellowship: Faculty Mobility Applications for Fall 2019

Applications for the Fall 2019 term are now open. The Leif J. Sverdrup Global Teaching Fellowship is the university’s in-network faculty mobility program. This program allows faculty the opportunity to travel to teach for a term or semester at one of the following Webster international campuses: Athens, Geneva, Leiden, Vienna, Accra, Cha-am/Bangkok, St. Louis (main campus and Gateway campus).

The Fall and Fall 1 Early Term Progress Survey will launch via the Student Success Portal on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018. This survey will be distributed to all Fall and Fall 1 U.S. on-ground and online courses and will be available for faculty to complete during a 10-day window that will close on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018.

Applications for 2018-19 Adjunct Faculty Development Fund

August 17, 2018

Applications for the 2018-19 Adjunct Faculty Development Fund are now open. Applications will be accepted through Sept. 21, 2018. Requests for funds should be for activities during the period beginning June 1, 2018 through May 31, 2019. The fund, which was established in Spring 2016 by the Office of the Provost, is designed to support eligible adjunct faculty for professional development, professional travel and research activities.

CampusConnect VDI Launch, Training, Plans

Beginning in Fall 2018, Information Technology is launching the first phase of CampusConnect, a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) initiative. This first phase provides a new way for certain students and faculty to access special software or applications with an end-goal of providing truly anytime, anywhere access to applications for all Webster students, faculty and staff in an efficient and secure way. Incomplete Guidance: End of Summer terms

As faculty members prepare to submit grades, we encourage faculty members and academic advisors to review the guidance regarding Incompletes and ensure that Incompletes are only being used in appropriate situations. All graduate and undergraduate Summer session courses should be assigned a grade by Friday, Aug. 3, and undergraduate second five-week session courses should be assigned a grade by Friday, Aug.10. Student Success Portal Summer Early Term Progress Surveys launch June 15 with updates

June 11, 2018

The Summer Early Term Progress Survey will launch via the Student Success Portal on Friday, June 15, 2018. This survey will be distributed to most graduate and undergraduate Summer U.S. on-ground and online courses and will be available for faculty to complete during a 10-day window that will close on Monday, June 25, 2018. Courses not surveyed are running in non-standard terms and have already completed or will not yet have started by the time of the survey window.
