Chess coach Susan Polgar and two team members played live on Fox 2 news ahead of this month’s Pan-Am championship, which they will attempt to win for the seventh consecutive time. … Two marketing students who were part of the winning team in the Chevy dealers competition were interviewed on Channel 4’s Great Day St. Louis. … Ghana director Christa Sanders was profiled in New African Woman magazine, on promoting a global approach to education. … Remy Cross was interviewed in Associated Press stories about a unionization vote in the St. Louis County Prosecutor’s Office.

Communications Students, Faculty Honored at National Advertising Competition

Students in the Advertising Campaign Production class won third place at the annual National Student Advertising Competition held by the American Advertising Federation. Their mentors, School of Communications adjunct faculty members Julie Clark and Michael Whitmer, won Advisor of the Year. The students collaborated in roles that would be needed to create and operate a small advertising agency, such as account management, account planning, and creative. All are welcome to see them present at the Friends & Family NSAC presentation May 2 in Browning Hall Auditorium.

Webster Advertising and Marketing Communications Student Wins Ad Club Scholarship

Myra Nelson, a senior studying Advertising and Marketing Communications at Webster was one of three students to win the American Advertising Federation's Ad Club Scholarship for 2016. Myra and her professor Kristen DiFate were recognized last week at the Ad Club 2016 Reunion Dinner at Kingside Diner.
