Carl Walker Named Interim Women's Tennis Coach

Webster University Director of Athletics Scott Kilgallon has named Carl Walker as the interim head women's tennis coach at Webster University for the upcoming 2019 fall season. Walker becomes the 14th head coach in the 35-year history of the program. Walker, who was been involved with tennis locally in the St. Louis area for nearly 30 years, has served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Gorlok women's tennis program since 2014.

Volleyball Earns 11th Consecutive AVCA Team Academic Award

For the 11th consecutive year, Webster University has been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with a Team Academic Award for the 2018-19 school year. The Team Academic Award recognizes teams who have matched their dedication to the sport of volleyball with excellence in the classroom. Teams must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team GPA. During the recently completed 2018-19 school year, Webster's volleyball team compiled a 3.53 team grade point average.

Golf Team Earns Special Academic Recognition from GCAA

The Webster University men's golf team was one of only eight NCAA Division III programs to earn both an All-Academic Team honor as well as the prestigious President's Special Recognition from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Webster was the only school from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honored by the GCAA and one of only six schools from Missouri to earn a Team Academic Award and one of three Missouri schools to earn a President's Special Recognition.

Kurich Named Diamond/ABCA Division III Central Region Coach of the Year

Webster University Head Coach Bill Kurich was named the 2019 Diamond/American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division III Central Region Coach of the Year on Tuesday afternoon after leading the Gorloks to their fourth appearance in the Division III World Series. For Kurich, this year's honor from the ABCA is his fifth since becoming Webster's coach in 2007. He was also honored by the ABCA in 2008, 2012, 2013 and 2015.

Anna Grobelny

Grobelny Named to Academic All-America Track/Cross Country Team

June 26, 2019

Webster University senior Anna Grobelny has been named to the 2018-19 Division III Google Cloud Academic All-America Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team selected by CoSIDA. She is just the fourth Webster student-athlete to earn Academic All-American honors from CoSIDA and the first since 2013. Grabelny graduated this spring with a degree in Biological Sciences and an emphasis on Research and Technology. She is one of 18 women on this year's Academic All-America Team to carry a 4.0 GPA.

Grobelny, Mitric Earn Google Cloud Academic All-District Honors

Webster University seniors Dimitrije Mitic (Belgrade, Serbia) and Anna Grobelny (Fenton, Missouri) were named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District 5 Teams for Men's and Women's Track/Cross Country, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). This Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances both athletically and in the classroom.

Headed to the World Series!

Super Regional Sweep Sends Webster to NCAA D-III World Series

May 26, 2019

For the fourth time in school history and first time since 2015, the Webster University baseball team is headed to the NCAA Division III World Series after sweeping top-ranked Concordia-Chicago in the best-of-three NCAA Midwest Super Regional. The Gorloks pounded a season-high 22 hits and walked no one in Saturday's series-clinching 16-5 victory over Concordia-Chicago, which had qualified for the past two World Series.

Sophomore Jacob Ridenhour 2nd in the Nation in 200 Meter

Webster University sophomore Jacob Ridenhour capped off his outstanding 2019 season by finishing runner-up in the 200-meter dash at the 2019 NCAA Division Track and Field Championships. Ridenhour recorded a school record time of 21.07 to finish the race in second place and earn National Runner-up honors. Ridenhour is the first-ever All-American in men's track in Webster University history.

Sophomore is 1st Gorlok to Qualify for NCAA Outdoor National Championships

Webster University sophomore Jacob Ridenhour made history Saturday morning as he became the first-ever Gorlok track and field athlete to qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. Ridenhour qualified in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes and is one of eight student-athletes to qualify in both of those sprints at this year's Outdoor National Championships, which will be held in Geneva, Ohio, May 23-25.

Webster Wins Third Straight, 18th All-Time SLIAC All-Sports Trophy

Webster University continued its dominance of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Sports Trophy by capturing the 2018-19 award for the third consecutive season, as announced Tuesday during the SLIAC Awards Banquet. Webster has now won the SLIAC All-Sports Trophy 18 times in the 21-year history of the award, including 14 times in the last 15 years. Among the Hall of Fame inductees were former Gorlok men's soccer coach Marty Todt '92 and former women's basketball player Angie Carr '05.

Student Athletes Honored at Annual Gorlok Awards Banquet

Webster University Athletics honored its senior student-athletes on April 28 at its annual Athletics Banquet. This year introduced a new "ESPY-style" ceremony that would involve several new awards being created and handed out, along with the department's traditional awards that are awarded annually. Students were given the red carpet treatment before being handed awards for a variety of achievements. They also had their hard work put on display in a highlight reel.

Six Gorlok Athletes Selected for All-SLIAC Women's Tennis Teams

Webster University was well represented on the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) 2019 All-League Teams for women's tennis on Wednesday afternoon. On the All-SLIAC Teams for women's tennis, Webster had a total of six players named to one of the leagues two teams, including three First-Team selections that were voted on by the head coaches.

Men's Golf Three-Peats as 2019 SLIAC Champion

Congratulations to Webster’s Men’s Golf team who won their third consecutive SLIAC league title on Tuesday at Weaver Ridge Golf Club. The team won by 73 shots over runner-up Fontbonne. At this year's SLIAC Championships, the Gorloks carded a 25-over 889 as a team for 54 to win its third consecutive and ninth all-time SLIAC title and also earn a return trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships in mid-May in Kentucky.
