Webster University volleyball team's 10th annual Dig Pink match

Webster Volleyball to Host Fontbonne for Annual Dig Pink Match on Oct. 3

The Webster University volleyball team will host its 10th annual Dig Pink match on Oct. 3 in support of the Sideout Foundation, which raises money and awareness of breast cancer. There will be 50/50 raffles, games and a silent auction for the fans to participate in and the fans are encouraged to wear pink to the match. The Gorloks will welcome its Big Bend Avenue rivals Fontbonne University for a SLIAC match inside Grant Gymnasium at 7 p.m.

Nominations Open for Webster Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2019

The Webster University Athletics Department has now begun accepting nominations for new members into its Athletics Hall of Fame. The deadline for nominations for the Class of 2019 is Sept. 15, 2018. Former Webster players, coaches, and teams, and other individuals who have made significant contributions to the Athletics program are eligible for selection to the Hall of Fame.

Webster's women's track and field team won an all-academic team award for the fourth time in the last five years.

Women's Track and Field, Illig Honored for Academics

Webster University's women's track and field team was honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) with a 2017-18 All-Academic Team Award. Senior women's track and field athlete Meghan Illig also earned NCAA Division III All-Academic Honors for 2017-18. Webster has now earned a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award for the fourth time in the last five years, including three straight awards from 2013-16.

The 2017-18 team compiled a 3.62 GPA that placed Webster in the Top 25 of all NCAA D-III programs nominated for the award.

Webster Volleyball Earns 10th Consecutive AVCA Team Academic Award

For the 10th consecutive year, Webster University was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association with a Team Academic Award. The award recognizes teams who have matched their dedication to the sport of volleyball with excellence in the classroom. During the 2017-18 school year, Webster's volleyball team compiled a 3.62 team grade point average that placed the Gorloks in the Top 25 of all NCAA Division III programs nominated for the award.

27 Webster Students on Spring All-Academic Team, 62 for 2017-18

Webster University had 27 student-athletes named to the 2018 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Spring All-Academic Team, with representation from the women's tennis and softball teams, the baseball team, the golf team and the men's and women's track teams. Including the fall and winter seasons, Webster had a total of 62 SLIAC All-Academic Team selections in the 2017-18 academic year.

The competition gathers competitive cheerleaders from across the country

Webster Cheerleading Places 6th in National Competition

Webster University Competitive Cheerleading competed for the second year at Cheer Ltd. Nationals at CANAM in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Webster Cheer was one of over 500 teams at this national competition and represented Webster University well with a 6th place national ranking. They demonstrated school spirit and stunting skills for the second year in a row, and only the second time ever in Webster University’s 103 year history.

Gorlok Baseball Extends Win Streak to Eight Games

Webster University used a six-run second inning here Friday morning en route to posting a 12-5 victory over 24th-ranked Wheaton (Mass.) College in its sixth game of the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational at Lake Myrtle Park. With the victory, Webster extends its win streak to eight straight games and improves its record to 9-2 overall, while Wheaton falls to 4-6 on the year.

The Gorloks are NCAA Tournament bound!

Women's Basketball Wins SLIAC Tournament Title, Earns NCAA Tournament Berth

Saturday's SLIAC Tournament championship is the first since Webster earned the 2011 title. The Gorloks also claimed the SLIAC Tournament title in 2005. In addition, Webster also earned its fourth-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and its first since 2011 when Webster fell 82-70 in the first round to Illinois Wesleyan. The NCAA will unveil the 64-team field for this year's tournament online on Monday afternoon.

Christy Capkovic '11 Named to SLIAC Hall of Fame Class of 2018

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced the members of their 2018 Hall of Fame Class, and one of this year's honorees is Webster alumna Christy Capkovic, a standout member of the University's women's soccer program from 2007-10. Capkovic will be honored during the league's annual Award Banquet, which is scheduled for May 15.

2018 Pioneer Award Recipient Marian Dooling McIntyre '61

The Webster University Alumni Association is pleased to announce its 2018 Pioneer Award recipient, Marian Dooling McIntyre, who was recognized for her contributions to Webster Athletics and the field of physical education at the Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Feb. 10. She began her education at Webster College in 1957 and was an active student, playing both basketball and volleyball all four years of her college career and serving as President of the Athletic Association.

Baseball to Host NCAA Division III Baseball Central Regional for Third Straight Year

For the third consecutive year, Webster University and the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has been approved to host the 2018 Central Regional of the NCAA Division III Baseball Championships. This year's Central Regional Tournament will be held at GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Illinois, on May 17-21, with the winner advancing to the NCAA Division III National Championships in Appleton, Wisconsin. GCS Ballpark is the home facility for the Webster University Gorloks baseball program.

Athletics Announces 2018 Hall of Fame Inductees

Webster University and director of athletics, Scott Kilgallon, are pleased to announce five Gorlok greats as the newest members of its Athletics Hall of Fame. The 2018 inductees include; two of the top sharp-shooters and scorers in Webster men’s basketball history, a midfielder for men’s soccer who solidified the young program plus a defender who helped make it a perennial conference contender, and a volleyball player who led the Gorloks to the school’s first SLIAC Championship, while making that program a perennial conference power as well.

Brianna Pagan named to CoSIDA 2017 Academic All-District First Team

Soccer Player Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District 1st Team

Webster University senior soccer player Brianna Pagan has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) 2017 Academic All-District First Team. Pagan, from St. Louis, Missouri (Washington HS), becomes the first Academic All-District First Team selection for the Gorloks since Webster Athletics Hall of Famer Christy Capkovic in 2010.
