Message from the Provost, SVP and COO on Leadership Changes

The following message from Provost, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Julian Schuster outlines changes in leadership duties at Webster's main campus. Beginning with the new fiscal year on June 1, the University will optimize its services for prospective and current students. Vice President John Pyle will begin supervision of the enrollment management unit at that time. Also, Vice Provost Nancy Hellerud will initiate her oversight of student affairs.

Rob Parrent, VP for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, Retiring in May

Robert Parrent, vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, has announced his retirement from Webster University, effective May 31. During his time at Webster, Parrent had a major impact on the University’s reach and enrollment of students in the St. Louis area. "My six years of service at Webster have shaped and touched me and for this reason, among many others, this decision has been difficult to reach," said Parrent, who says he is accepting "a new role as Dr. Grandparrent."

Candidate Session March 7: Director of Undergraduate Admissions

The Office of Admission will host a candidate interview for the position of director of undergraduate admission on Thursday, March 7. This position fills a critical strategic leadership role in the recruitment of new students to the Webster Groves home campus. All faculty and staff are invited to attend an open forum session to meet the candidate from 1:30–2:30 p.m. in the Webster Groves Room in Webster Hall to assess the candidate’s qualifications.

Recruiter Application Portal: Scheduled maintenance begins Feb. 26

Beginning the afternoon of Monday, Feb. 26, the University's Recruiter portal will be unavailable during a scheduled upgrade. We anticipate that the upgrade may take several days because of the size of Webster’s prospective student database. During the upgrade prospective students will be directed to temporary inquiry and application forms so that they will continue to be able to provide us with their contact information, apply for future terms, or register for upcoming events.

Snapshot: College counselors learn about Webster during home campus visit

A group of 25 independent college counselors from around the country visited campus last week to learn more about Webster and the opportunities available for their students. Independent college counselors work individually with high school students and their families to help manage the college admissions process, and assist them in finding the best post-secondary education options. Their visit to Webster marks an important piece of the recruitment strategy for first-time freshmen.

Student Employment Realigned to Financial Aid Office

Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (EMSA) announces the realignment and relocation of Student Employment from Career Planning and Development Center to the Financial Aid Office, Webster Hall 101, effective Oct. 24. In addition, the new general phone number for student employment questions will be the Financial Aid Office at 314-246-6992.

The FAFSA period has moved!

Changes to FAFSA Process: Earlier Completion Available

September 13, 2016

There is a big change occurring with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) starting with the 2017-2018 academic year. Students who plan to attend college in the 2017- 2018 academic year can complete the FAFSA as early as Oct. 1, 2016. This means students have the ability to complete their FAFSAs three months earlier than in previous years.

Graduate Student Orientation Attracts 150 New to Webster

Webster University hosted over 150 new graduate students and their guests on Saturday, Aug. 13, for orientation. As part of the morning, students heard from university leadership, followed by concurrent sessions on topics ranging from financing their degree, writing and research, making their degree work, taking it online and partnering for success.

Student Affairs Joins Enrollment Management to Become EMSA

The Office of the Provost announces the consolidation of the administrative units Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, effective immediately. Now known as EMSA, the realignment will better link enrollment plans with academic and financial plans, and strengthen student experience from recruitment to graduation.
