Teacher Education Students Immersed in Leiden

Six Webster teacher education students have been immersed in an international practicum for the past seven weeks in Leiden, the Netherlands. They observed and taught in a local school two days a week while also visiting other schools and taking a seminar in Dutch culture, school systems and pedagogy. The practicum was piloted by Ted Green, who is teaching at Webster Leiden this spring through a Sverdrup Fellowship, Webster's faculty mobility program.

This program allows faculty the opportunity to travel to teach for a term or semester at one of the following Webster international campuses: Athens, Geneva, Leiden, Vienna, Accra, Cha-am/Bangkok, St. Louis (main campus and Gateway campus).

Applications are now open for the Leif J. Sverdrup Global Teaching Fellowship for Summer 2017 and Fall 2017. The fellowship is a revision of Webster’s in-network faculty mobility program. This program provides the opportunity for faculty members to travel to teach at Athens, Geneva, Leiden, Vienna, Accra, Cha-am/Bangkok, St. Louis (main campus and Gateway campus). The submission deadline for Summer 2017 and Fall 2017 applications is Friday, Nov. 18, 2016.
