Limited Slots Remaining for the 2020 Fall Institute

The Multicultural Studies Committee, in collaboration with faculty and staff members of color, has worked closely with the Faculty Senate in conceptualizing and planning the 2020 Webster University Fall Faculty Institute, which is open to all faculty (i.e., full-time, part-time, contingent), staff, and administrators across Webster's U.S. domestic campuses. A third session is now being offered on Friday, Oct. 16, from 2-6 p.m after the first two were filled.

The Multicultural Studies Committee, in collaboration with faculty and staff members of color, has worked closely with the Faculty Senate in conceptualizing and planning the 2020 Webster University Fall Faculty Institute, which will be open to all faculty (i.e., full-time, part-time, contingent), staff and administrators across Webster's U.S. domestic campuses. Two sessions will be offered (Oct. 2 or Oct. 9), and registration is required. Space will be limited in order to facilitate engagement and meaningful conversation.

Faculty Senate Convenes First Meeting of 2016-2017

Faculty Senate President Gary Renz convened the first meeting of the 2016-2017 Faculty Senate on June 2. Renz was elected by a ballot vote of the faculty in February and took office on June 1 for a three-year term. He outlined a vision of Senate leadership that focuses on continuing and strengthening Webster’s tradition of shared governance, working collaboratively with President Stroble and Provost Schuster, as well as enhancing the voice of the faculty.

Basiyr Rodney Elected Faculty Senate Vice President

Basiyr Rodney, Department of Teacher Education, was elected as vice president of the Faculty Senate for the 2016-2017 academic year. At the Senate’s first meeting held June 2, Senate President Gary Renz proposed the election of Rodney to the position. Renz expressed the aspiration that the Senate should include many different voices from the schools and colleges and also provide space for faculty members in different stages of the academic ladder to have a place in the Senate.
