Jeanelle Wiley has been named Assistant Chancellor, Secretary of the University and Senior Privacy Director, reflecting her role as a direct report to the Chancellor and as an officer of the Board of Trustees. Wiley also serves as the University's liaison to external counsel for all legal issues institutionally and collaborates with University departments to implement regulations and policies.

GDPR: Addressing the right to erasure

Do you know what steps to take if someone submits a request for erasure of his/her data? EU Residents have the right to request this according to Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Article 17 requires that the controller of the personal data in question provide information without undue delay and in any event within one month of receipt of the request.

The European Union (EU) will implement the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) on May 25, regulating the processing of personal data for EU residents/citizens and requiring consent to the transfer of this information. Webster faculty and staff should become familiar with this regulation and its treatment of personal and sensitive data. Visit Webster's GDPR site and student privacy notice, and delete any such data on EU residents/citizens from your computer or laptop that is no longer needed.
