Cheryl Fritz Appointed Interim Chief Human Resources Officer

Webster University has appointed Cheryl Fritz as interim Chief Human Resources Officer, effective Sept. 1. Fritz joined Webster University in 2010 as Manager, Benefits and Compensation, and later became Director, Benefits & Compensation, before assuming her current role as Director, Total Rewards. She was a 2015 fellow in Webster’s Global Leadership Academy.

Fritz Leads Payroll Transition as Crutchfield Departs

Gerald Crutchfield, director of Payroll, will be leaving Webster University June 7 for another professional growth opportunity. Effective immediately, Cheryl Fritz, director, Total Rewards, will assume responsibility for Payroll in addition to her current Compensation and Benefits responsibilities. Fritz is leading a transition plan that ensures we maintain the current high level of payroll service and accuracy while implementing efficiencies within the combined department.

Staff Members of the Year Announced at Annual Recognition Breakfast

Tara Campbell and Nancy Higgins were announced as the Staff Members of the Year at the annual Faculty and Staff Recognition Breakfast on Tuesday, May 14. The two are also Webster alumnae. Other previously announced honorees from the network were also recognized, including the faculty recipients of this year's Kemper and Messing awards, the staff Gorlok Greats, new retirees and those who reached milestones for years of service in 2019.

Webster Wellness hosts Destination Wellness Challenge

Destination Wellness Challenge 'Journey to Improve Your Move' through April 25

March 25, 2019

Webster Wellness invites all students, faculty, and staff to commit to active movement three times per week for 30 minutes or more. Walk, run, crossfit, it's your choice. Track your time and exercise and submit it weekly for extra chances to win a grand prize. The top three contenders who log the most sessions will be recognized at the Year End Wellness Celebration. All participants receive a Wellness souvenir, plus a chance at grand prizes. Weekly wellness 'pit stop' events will be hosted by Webster Wellness such as Viva the Yoga, Free Chair Massages, and a Faculty vs. Staff Kickball Game.

Two New Financial Wellness Resources Available

January 22, 2019

Webster Wellness is pleased to announce two new financial wellness resources for our Webster community. First, the "Financial Wellness" digital platform, in partnership with Prudential, will go live on Tuesday, Jan. 22. It combines digital learning and interactive tools with personalized content for action at your pace along with a library of topic-specific videos, educational articles and the opportunity to attend monthly webinars on relevant financial topics. The second opportunity is Webster's Pathways Financial Wellness Series starting Feb. 6. This series of five courses will be classroom/lecture type presentations on topics like savings & budgeting, investment principles, retirement strategies and more.

Douglas Rau to Lead Human Resources

Webster University has appointed Douglas (Doug) Rau as its interim Chief Human Resources Officer, effective Jan. 15. "Doug is known as a champion for building employee engagement to improve retention and productivity,” said Webster University President Elizabeth (Beth) J. Stroble. “We are eager for him to bring his insights and experience to Webster, and we look forward to welcoming him to our global community as he helps us build on the momentum of the accomplishments of our outstanding team in Human Resources."

Tuition Exchange Program Application and Renewal Deadlines Fast Approaching

October 08, 2018

In addition to Webster Tuition Remission, the University offers two programs where dependent children of full-time Webster employees may be eligible to apply for scholarships at other higher education institutions: the Tuition Exchange, Inc. (TE) Program and the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) Tuition Exchange Program. Applications are due Friday, Oct. 12. CIC applications are due Friday, Dec. 7.

Information sessions

Voluntary Retirement Incentive Program Announced

October 01, 2018

Starting Oct. 1, Webster University will offer a voluntary retirement incentive program for full-time faculty and full- and part-time staff and administration who are at least 65 years old, and who have at least five years of service with the University. The program was developed after hearing increasing requests from faculty and staff for a second offering of the 2017 program. The Board of Trustees approved the program at its September meeting. Information sessions are scheduled. The last day to apply is Dec. 21.
