Webster Wellness to Host Presentations on Social Security and Medicare

As a part of financial wellness, Webster Wellness will host presentations on Social Security and Medicare this month. A representative from Missouri Claim will be on campus Friday, April 20. On Tuesday, April 24, a representative from the Social Security Administration will be on campus to give a presentation on Social Security benefits.

Walk with the President in Destination: WELLNESS Wednesday

Part of the Destination: WELLNESS activities this month is an opportunity to walk around campus with President Stroble on Wednesday, April 11. All are welcome even if you did not sign up for this "Path 3: Weekly Pit Stops" track or any part of the Destination: WELLNESS challenge. Gather for the walk at noon on Wednesday, April 11, at Emerson Library. The forecast looks great, but in case of bad weather, look for a notice on the Wellness blog at blogs.webster.edu/wellness.

Go Red For Women, Raise Awareness For Heart Disease Feb. 2

For the past several years, Webster University has actively participated in the American Heart Association’s National Wear Red Day campaign, Go Red for Women. This year’s goal is to raise $1,000 and increase awareness in the fight against heart disease in women. By wearing red on Feb. 2 and making a donation of any amount, you can be part of raising awareness of what the American Heart Association (AHA) calls “the silent killer.”

W. Steven Winter Named Interim Chief Human Resources Officer

Webster University this week named W. Steven Winter its interim chief human resources officer. He will serve in this role while Webster completes the search for a successor to Betsy Schmutz. Winter has human resources leadership experience in a diverse range of industries, leading HR for corporations that operate in multiple regions and countries. Among his areas of expertise are strategic planning, employee engagement and retention strategies, talent acquisition, employee training and HR practices compliance.

Storm Named Title IX Coordinator

Webster University announces that University conduct officer and deputy Title IX coordinator Philip Storm has been named Title IX coordinator, effective Jan. 1, 2018. Storm will assume these duties in the wake of associate vice president and chief human resource officer Betsy Schmutz’ retirement this month. As the Title IX coordinator, his role will shift to ensure the overall compliance with Title IX, including educational programming and trainings for the entire University community.

100 percent of participants think that the Webster Wellness Committee should offer NO-vember again next year.

Wellness NO-vember Impact: Reflections, survey results, drawing winners

During Webster Wellness' NO-vember initiative, participants received a success tracking survey via email. In the final NO-vember survey, 100 percent of participants said they were at least somewhat successful in reaching their goals and 30 percent felt that they were definitely successful.
