Joanna Finch Named Director of Undergraduate Admission

Joanna Finch has been named director of Undergraduate Admission for Webster University. This position in the Office of Admission serves a critical leadership and strategic role in the recruitment of new students to the Webster Groves home campus. Finch joins Webster on May 16, from St. Louis College of Health, where she served as the director of Admission and director of Enrollment for nine years.

Webster Sponsors Phi Theta Kappa, Receives Honor Roll Award for Third Consecutive Year

Joan Finder and Chrissy Gilbert from the Office of Admission attended the Phi Theta Kappa Catalyst International Convention in Orlando, Florida. Webster was a sponsor and exhibitor for the convention, where more than 3700 community college students attended. Finder and Gilbert accepted the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Roll award on behalf of the University. Finder was also recognized for her long-time support and friendship of the Phi Theta Kappa organization.

Film, TV, Video Production Program Shows 'Movie Magic' at Science Center

Faculty and students from the Film, Television and Video Production program partnered with the Office of Admission to give community members a taste of movie making at the St. Louis Science Center's "First Friday: Movie Magic" event. The event, attended by over a thousand people, shined the light on Webster programs, equipment and people with four "sound stages" filling the museum and demonstrating how the magic of the screen is created.

Fifth Annual Graphic Design Showcase

Local designers, art directors, prospective students, alumni, faculty, and staff gathered to commemorate the Fifth Annual Graphic Design Showcase, held Dec. 1, in the East Academic Building's Edward Jones Commons. This event is co-hosted by the Department of Art, Art History and Design and the Career Planning and Development Center. Thirteen Graphic Design students presented their digital and print portfolios, while one walked away with a $1000 award presented by the event’s agency sponsors, Momentum Worldwide.

Webster to Host St. Louis' Performing and Visual Arts College Fair Oct. 7

The Office of Admission, in partnership with the Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts and School of Communications, is proud to be the host of the upcoming St. Louis Performing and Visual Arts College Fair. The fair takes place Saturday, Oct. 7, from 1-3 p.m., in the Grant Gymnasium on the home campus in Webster Groves. The event is free and open to the public.

Office of Admission Welcomes Area Community College Advisors

The Transfer Team in the Office of Admission recently welcomed advisors from area community colleges to Webster's home campus. Through visits with local community colleges, Webster is able to share information with advisors about new and existing academic programs, study abroad opportunities, transfer policies and scholarship opportunities. The Transfer Team is gearing up for "Webster Days" at St. Louis Community College-Meramec on April 6 and Southwestern Illinois College on April 12.
