Recent professional news and achievements for Webster University faculty members include: Alumnus Charles (“Chuck”) Bunch, USAF United States Air Force (ret.), was presented an award by the San Antonio Business Journal, one of 14 Veterans honored with the Veterans in Business award. ... Webster alumnus and adjunct faculty member Zlatko Ćosić will screen an original film, Even the Birds Know It, at the Green Vision International Environmental Film Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia, Nov. 26-29. ... Webster alumni Taylor Michl and current Webster student Elliot Laurence presented at the 2019 Transgender Spectrum Conference, held on Nov. 8-9 at Washington University.

San Antonio Grad Students Awarded Endowed Scholarships

October 15, 2019

Two students from the Webster University San Antonio metro campus location were awarded scholarships: Courtney Leanne Bradford was awarded The Joyce Garlick Peavy Endowed Scholarship in the amount of $3,244, and Denzell Erves was awarded the William Thornton Memorial Endowed Scholarship in the amount of $1,454. Both scholarships are funded by esteemed alumni and community members who believe in and value a distinguished Webster education.

WSA Awards 7 Extended Campus Travel Scholarships

Webster Staff Alliance (WSA) has announced the Webster Staff Alliance Scholarship Award Recipients for 2018. The award is designed to bring domestic extended site staff members to the home campus in Webster Groves, to participate in either the Embracing Diversity and Inclusion: Elevating the Conversation (Feb. 28-March 1) or WSA Professional Development Day (March 14). Be sure to say hello if you see them around the halls at main campus.

Webster at Yellow Ribbon Program Event in San Antonio

The Air Force Reserve Yellow Ribbon Program held a training event June 17-18 in San Antonio for deploying or recently deployed members from around the country. Webster University participated as a resource provider, with Lackland and Randolph Air Force Base campus directors Nicole Garcia and Ruben Molina, Jr. providing information about Webster programs to members, spouses and other interested family members.

Garcia Named Webster Lackland AFB Director

Nicole Garcia has been named director of Webster’s Lackland Air Force Base campus location in San Antonio, Texas. She comes to Webster after several years with the Texas Air National Guard, also at Lackland AFB, where she served in a number of leadership roles. She also has several years’ experience with the U.S. Air Force as course director and curriculum developer, as well as a public health instructor.
