Update on Campuses Impacted by Hurricane Irma

As the southeast United States recovers from the impact of Hurricane Irma, we can report that to the best of our knowledge that students, faculty and staff in Florida, South Carolina and Georgia are safe. Many Florida campuses, employees and students continue to be affected by power outages and localized flooding.

Counseling Students Receive National Minority Fellowships

July 26, 2017

Two Webster University counseling students at the Myrtle Beach campus location have been awarded fellowships in the National Board for Certified Counselors Foundation 2017 Minority Fellowship Program. Each will receive up to $11,000 in scholarship funding, thanks to their knowledge of and experience with racially and ethnically diverse populations.

Webster Counseling Students at Myrtle Beach Win ACA Student Ethics Competition

A team of counseling graduate students from Webster University's Myrtle Beach campus location have won the nationwide 2016-2017 Graduate Student Ethics Competition sponsored by the American Counseling Association. Students Andrea Gillespie, Tamara McCaffity, John McIntyre and Jacqueline McMillian were encouraged to enter the competition by faculty advisor La Vera Brown.

Hellerud visits Charleston locations

Vice Provost Nancy Hellerud met with faculty and staff from the Charleston Metropolitan and Joint Base Charleston campus locations on Oct. 21 for a discussion of enrollment, retention and online efforts. The purpose of the meeting was to provide updates concerning the activities at campuses across the entire university network to include the main campus, the international and military locations, and the extended campuses.

They organized the retreat to share ideas on how to improve community relations, build new relationships, increase recruiting efforts, and share best practices from each of Webster's metropolitan campus locations in South Carolina.

Grimes-McGreer Named Greenville Director

The Office of Academic Affairs is pleased to welcome Mary Grimes-McGreer as director of Webster’s Greenville, South Carolina, campus location. She brings several years’ experience in higher education administration to the position, including 10 years serving as a satellite campus director for South Carolina University. She holds a PhD in educational administration from the University of South Carolina.

In South Carolina for Webster Works Worldwide, the Columbia Metro campus volunteered with the EdVenture Community Garden project, while Myrtle Beach participated in Treats for Special Kids at Medieval Times.
