Student Government Association Election Results Announced

The Office of Student Engagement has released the results for the 2018-19 Student Government Association elections. Regular elections occur during the Fall Semester for At-Large Senators and the Spring semester for Academic Senators and Executive Board members. This year, 269 votes were cast in the election.

Annual nation-wide celebration of international education and exchange

Webster to Celebrate International Education Week Nov. 13-17

International Education Week (IEW) is an annual nation-wide celebration of international education and exchange. It is joint initiative through the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education that started in 2000. Colleges and universities across the country host globally themed events and activities throughout the week.

First Campus-Wide Sustainability Week April 24-28

Webster University Student Government Association (SGA) and Sustainability Office are hosting the first ever campus-wide Sustainability Week April 24-28. Sustainability Week will provide ample opportunities to educate oneself and to think critically about the most prevalent issues being faced by our natural world. The week will be comprised of a wide variety of events and opportunities for the campus community to make a greater connection with our campus’s built and natural habitats.

Dance Students' Choreography Selected for Gala at ACDA Conference

On Tuesday, March 28, 23 Webster University dance students, both majors and minors, boarded a bus to Wichita, Kansas for the American College Dance Association’s Central Region conference for four days of workshops, concerts, presenting choreography and performing. Two students also had their choreography selected for the conference's Gala Concert.

Vienna Students Practice Waltz, Head to Ball of Sciences

Webster University students at the Vienna campus once again participated in the annual Wiener Ball Der Wissenschaften (Vienna Ball of Sciences) held at Vienna's historic city hall. A week before the formal event, dance instructor Gernot Pruschak walked them through classics, including the Viennese waltz, while a reception held at Webster Vienna before the ball prepared students for an unforgettable cultural experience.

SGA Approves Six New Student Organizations

Webster University Student Government Association approved five new student organizations for the Webster Groves campus at the February meeting. The new groups are: Graduate Students Association, Latin American Student Organization (LASO), Student Association of India (SANGAM), Webster University Ceramics Club (The Scorpions), Webster Table Tennis Club and Webster Economic Association.

Vienna Students Prep for Finals, Take a Break with the Dogs

For the third time, the library at Webster Vienna coordinated a study week program during the busiest time of the semester. The library kept its doors open late, provided an encouraging environment topped with quotes from alumni, and hosted dogs coordinated by SGA to let students alleviate the stress from final exams.

After a year of successful fundraising efforts by the Student Government Association, and through the generosity of 75 donors who gave $13,546.12, the Gorlok statue is a reality! Join us on Monday, Aug. 1, at 4 p.m. for the unveiling celebration. The statue will be placed in the plaza between the Emerson Library and Sverdrup Complex.

23rd Annual Awards Ceremony Honors Student Leaders

The 23rd Annual Student Leadership Awards Ceremony, sponsored by Student Affairs and the Student Government Association, was held on April 17 in Grant Gymnasium. Student groups and individual students were recognized for their leadership involvement at the Webster Groves campus. Many alumni and former award recipients returned to honor current student leaders and present the awards.
