Faculty Research Grant: Kaiser observes EnglishWorks project in Brazil

Associate professor DJ Kaiser recently completed his Faculty Research Grant activities in Brazil, spending more than three weeks in Rio de Janeiro observing classes in a project called EnglishWorks, managed by Sequoia Foundation, which partners with various public entities in the city of Rio to provide free English language classes in areas of critical need.

Kaiser Concludes Fulbright Scholars Grant in Uruguay

Associate professor DJ Kaiser recently completed his Fulbright activities in Uruguay. His research focused on Ceibal en Inglés, a project that uses videoconference to help teach English in public schools all over Uruguay using remote teachers. In total, Kaiser observed more than 100 class sessions throughout Uruguay in both primary and secondary schools. After spending time in southern, eastern, northern, and western Uruguay, he finished his research observations in the central city of Durazno.

Faculty Update: Kaiser in Uruguay on Fulbright Scholars Grant

Associate professor DJ Kaiser has been traveling throughout Uruguay on a Fulbright U.S. Scholars Grant. Kaiser’s research focuses on the experiences of Uruguayan teachers in the project through a case study. He has already observed more than 70 class sessions in primary and secondary schools, has interviewed 15 different teachers, and collected survey data from more than 680 teachers.
