Construction Update March 27 2017

This is a regular update of the construction work for Browning Hall, Interdisciplinary Science Building and the Parking Garage expansion on the home campus of Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri:

The countdown is on for the completion of the Parking Garage Expansion. A ceremonial ribbon cutting for the event will be held in the garage at 11 a.m. April 20. The garage is expected to open by the end of April, provided the proper occupation permits are issued.

At the Parking garage:

  • Concrete was poured for the new stair tower this week. The flatwork crews will start to work on the pour strips throughout the upper floors of the garage over the next two weeks.
  • Workers are placing the roof on the stair tower and should be finished in the next few days.
  • Next week, the glass curtainwall at the stairs will be installed.  That work should be finished by early April.
  • Chain link fencing around the new facilities area will start to be installed in the next few days.  The block wall separating the facilities area from the lower level parking will be installed next week.
  • Lighting and plumbing drains continue are more than 75% complete.
  • Landscaping in front of the bookstore will start in the next few days.

Over at Browning Hall:

  • Concrete for the south and north stairways is being poured next week.
  • Rock and storm piping is being installed in the new courtyard this week. The work is expected to be finished by next week.
  • Soil for the five trees in the new courtyard will be delivered March 30. The trees will be planted April 3 and 4.
  • The final components of the green roof are being installed. That work is expected to last through next week.
  • Work on the new sidewalk on the roof of the lecture hall will start in early April.
  • Crews continue to install interior glass walls, drywall, floorikng and acoustical ceiling tiles. That work will continue for several weeks.
  • Brick veneer continues to be installed. That work is expected to last through the end of April.
  • Work on the installation of the freight elevator continues and is expected to be completed by early April. The passenger elevator will be installed in April through May.
