Construction Update Feb. 19, 2018
Construction continues on the Sverdrup Building.

This is a regular update of the construction work on the home campus of Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri:

Updates on the Sverdrup Building:

  • Selective demolition will continue throughout the building (the removal of some walls, removal of pipes or conduits, etc.). This work potentially could be disruptive at times. The dates for this work are Feb. 19, 21, 22, 23, 26 and 28.
  • Crews are scheduled to install the south elevation concrete subsurface frost blocks that will support brick pavers and prevent hydrostatic pressure from pushing them up and out of place on the Quad side of the building. This work will happen today (Monday, Feb. 19) and Tuesday, Feb. 20. Ingress and egress to the building from Big Bend will not be affected while this work is ongoing.
  • Drywall installation on the second floor has started and will continue Feb. 19, 20 and 21. HVAC works continues. New ductwork is being installed.
  • Electrical, both power and low-voltage (data) continues.
  • New A/V equipment has been ordered.
  • Test plot for the new “polished” concrete floor is finished and has been reviewed. This floor will extend through the entryway and the center hallway.
