Construction Update Jan 25 2018
Work continues on the Sverdrup Complex.

This is a regular update of the construction work on the home campus of Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri:

Sverdrup Building;

  • Demolition of the concrete on the north side of the building at the east entrance is scheduled to begin Thursday, Jan. 24. The work is expected to continue for several days. During this time, the elevated second floor walk on the east side of the building (sometimes referred to as the Sverdrup Bridge) will be temporarily reopened to ease ADA (American With Disabilities Act of 1990) access between the east and west sides of the building. Students, faculty and staff who use ADA-designated entrances will be able to enter through the west side, take the elevator to the second floor, and then cross to the east side.
  • Concrete will continue to be installed in key areas of the building. That work is expected to continue through the end of February.
  • The interior demolition work is nearly finished and is expected to be completed in early February. Masonry on the exterior of the building will be demolished later this semester so that work crews can relocate the north and south entrances so that the doors are in line (in plane) with the building facade.
  • Water to the building could be temporarily lost for several hours in the next two weeks. The work could happen either Saturday, Jan. 26 or Saturday, Feb. 3. Please watch Webster Today for when that work is definitively scheduled.
