Construction Update March 22 2018
The remodeling of the entrances to the Sverdrup Building are in full swing (no pun intended) this week.

This is a regular update of the construction work on the home campus of Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri:

Sverdrup Building:

  • The northwest entrance (Big Bend side) will open this weekend for ADA Accessibility, restoring access to the west elevator. After this weekend temporary closures of this area can be expected throughout the project. Those who need an elevator to access the second floor during one of the temporary closures can use the east elevator, which will be accessible until 6 p.m. each night.
  • Workers are currently removing the existing glass entrances on the north side (Big Bend side). The work is expected to continue through next week. Temporary building enclosures are being built to protect the interior of the building. New glass entrances will be installed through the end of March.
  • Significant masonry work on the south side (the Quad side) will start next week and continue through the end of the month. The structure will need to be shored up and some brickwork will be removed, while crews reshape the entrances to the building.
  • Concrete will be placed to infill the first-floor electrical trenches that were excavated in the past week along with the south side entrance pads. This work will require delivery of concrete through the northwest entrance. The work will take place Thursday and Friday and potentially could be noisy.
  • The doors to the new classrooms, labs, and offices are being framed. That work will continue through the end of the end of the month.
  • Concrete will be placed for the south side (Quad) entrance, with the work starting this week and continuing through the end of the month.
  • Concrete will be placed for the north side (Big Bend) entrances between March 29th and April 4th.
