East Academic Building Portico Under Construction this Week
A rendering of the interior of Browning Hall. This week, the second floor portico in the EAB will be transformed into a connector to Browning Hall.

The second floor portico area at the north end of the East Academic Building will be temporarily closed Tuesday, May 16th, as construction crews pour the new concrete floor.  When the building is open the portico will be enclosed and serve as the connector between Browning Hall, Interdisciplinary Science Building and the East Academic Building.

The space will reopen Wednesday, May 17th, but only as an emergency exit, as construction crews will be removing the temporary wooden stairs that were built last year as part of the Browning Hall project. A temporary barrier will be set up in the portico area for safety reasons. By Friday, May 19th, construction crews will start building a new permanent set of stairs.

Backfilling of the dead area and stairs will start on Friday, May 19th.  On Saturday, May 20th, the concrete slab at the east end of the portico will be removed.
