Electrical Changeover Affects Multiple Campus Buildings Labor Day Weekend

Electrical Customer Substation, Phase 2 Project

Over the Labor Day weekend, from Sunday, Sept. 6, 10:30 p.m. to Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, 3 p.m., the substation contractor will disconnect the Facilities Building from Ameren Missouri’s electrical substation and later connect to Webster University’s new electrical substation. 

Multiple Campus Buildings Affected

Buildings affected by this changeover and will be without power during the above mentioned dates and times include: Webster Hall, Facilities Building, Sverdrup Building, Emerson Library, Loretto-Hilton Center and Community Music School. These buildings will not be accessible to faculty, staff, or students during this time as there will be no electrical power to these buildings.

How to Prepare: Power Off Computers, Electrical Equipment Sept. 4

To prepare for this work, the occupants of Webster Hall, Facilities Building, Sverdrup Building, Emerson Library, Loretto-Hilton Center and Community Music School must to turn off all computers, any other electrical equipment and departmental copy machines on Friday, Sept. 4, before departing. Also, please remove food and any other perishable items from refrigerators and take precautions with small office refrigerators, as they will defrost while unpowered.
