Electrical Customer Substation, Phase 2 Project

The substation contractor will disconnect the University Center and Visual Arts Studio from Ameren Missouri’s electrical substation; the Emerson Library and the Sverdrup Building from the Facilities Building, and connect them directly to Webster University’s new electrical substation beginning at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, until 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20.

Multiple Campus Buildings Affected

Buildings affected by this changeover and will be without power during the above mentioned dates and times include: University Center, Visual Arts Studio, Emerson Library and Sverdrup Building. These buildings will not be accessible to faculty, staff, or students during this time as there will be no electrical power to these buildings.

How to Prepare: Power Off Computers, Electrical Equipment Dec. 18

To prepare for this work, the occupants of these buildings must turn off all computers, any other electrical equipment and departmental copy machines on Friday, Dec. 18, before departing. Also, please remove food and any other perishable items from refrigerators and take precautions with small office refrigerators, as they will defrost while unpowered.
