HR Benefits and Travel

Jul. 17, 2015

Traveling is a hot topic right now. Webster’s benefits team wants to remind you that there are things you can plan for in advance, should the need for medical care arise. See below for resources and links to more on:

  • Traveling Within the US
  • Traveling Outside the US
  • Convenience at your Fingertips
  • Travel Assistance (non insurance)

United Healthcare (Employees enrolled in UHC) UHC Traveling Brochure

Within the USA: UHC provides Convenient/Urgent Care (Choice EPO plan is network only) and Emergency Care. To find providers, pharmacies or other facilities, go to www.myuhc.com. Select UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus if you have the HDHP with HSA Account or the Choice Plus PPO plan, or select United Healthcare Choice if you have the Choice EPO plan.

(Note: You must register to view your specific benefits.)

Outside the USA: UHC provides Urgent Care and Emergency Care, for both Choice Plus and Choice plans.

Webster’s plans do not have a national network, therefore employees must be prepared to pay for services up front and submit claims to UHC for processing and reimbursement.

Did you receive health care services outside the U.S.?

  • Retrieve copies of all your medical records from your doctor before you leave the country.
  • Ensure copies are clear and legible.
  • Ask the provider of service to write the bill in English if possible.
  • Confirm with your doctor that the bill includes patient name, date of service, description of the services provided and the charge for each service provided. UHC needs these details to process the claim.
  • Complete and submit an international claim form, which can be found in the ADP Health and Welfare portal, document Library.
