The Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program in collaboration with the Graduate Student Association, arranged to have the Work Smart workshop facilitated by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) on Monday, April 17, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the University Center's Sunnen Lounge.

The session will focus on salary negotiation skills and strategies to narrow the gender pay gap.

AAUW Work Smart is designed to help you negotiate for a new job, raise, or promotion.

Key learnings include:

  • How to identify and articulate your personal value
  • How to develop an arsenal of persuasive responses and other negotiation strategies
  • How to conduct objective market research to benchmark a target salary and benefits
  • The wage gap, including its long-term consequences
