New Preferred Urgent Care Provider for Workplace Injuries/Illnesses
Concentra is the new preferred urgent care provider.

Effective Aug. 28, Concentra, a nationwide urgent care provider, will be the new preferred urgent care provider that St. Louis area Webster University employees and some extended campus employees can utilize for the treatment of non-critical work-related injuries/illnesses, unless the injuries/illnesses are critical and require immediate care at a hospital. In that case, go to the nearest hospital.

Concentra has seven locations in the St. Louis area (see St. Louis area locations here [PDF]), and since Concentra is nationwide, they also have locations close to many of our extended campus locations (See a full list of locations by state here [PDF]). For extended campuses that are not close to a Concentra location, employees should go to the nearest urgent care or hospital depending on the seriousness of the injury.

Concentra is able to perform any services related to injury care, including physical therapy, sutures, x-rays, and more. Concentra can handle anything that is not life or limb threatening. In the event of a critical injury or illness that employee should seek out the closest hospital for emergency care.

In the event of a non-critical work-related injury, an employee should immediately notify his/her supervisor and should contact Jamie Goodwin in Human Resources to fill out a workplace injury report [PDF]. Then Jamie will provide the injured worker with an authorization to go to Concentra for injury evaluation.

Again, this would be for non-critical injuries that do not require immediate care at a hospital. (The Department of Public Safety can provide these authorizations after hours and on weekends for those at the Webster home campus.) If an injury/illness occurs after Concentra’s hours, please seek out the nearest urgent care or hospital based on the severity of the injury/illness.

For critical injuries/illnesses on the job, the employee should go to the nearest hospital for those injuries/illnesses that are critical and require immediate care.

Learn more about Concentra and their locations here. Once on this page, select “Urgent Care” and then enter the zip code of your campus location to find a Concentra near you.
