Next Phase of Global IT Productivity Rollout Underway
Building off the migration to Office 365, this summer students, faculty and staff will begin to see advances in email, the Connections portal and guest wi-fi access.

The next phase of Webster University Information Technology’s rollout of new global productivity tools is well underway.

Building off the migration to Office 365, this summer students, faculty and staff will begin to see advances in email, the Connections portal and guest wi-fi access.

As promised during last year’s Office 365 registration drive, users will be able to use these applications at their work stations, on personal devices, in the office, at home or on the road whether they call San Antonio, Webster Groves or Geneva their home campus.

The rollout will also strengthen and unify the University security position, while also more clearly defining user access roles. Part of the rollout will entail role-based access control (RBAC), which identifies roles and associated services within the University.

Guest Wi-Fi

The new guest wi-fi network launched in May, offering more security, control and a more streamlined experience for guests to the University needing internet access during visits, special events and conferences.

Changes to Connections Portal, Calendar, Groups

Beginning Wednesday, June 28, the Connections portal will have a new look and feel, offering more features and a cleaner interface. The website to access Connections stays the same: http://connections.webster.edu.

The Connections login password is the same as the Office 365 password for those who have registered their Office 365 account. Students who have not yet registered their Office 365 account must to do so prior to logging in to the new Connections portal. (Instructions for registering for Office 365 can be found here.).

More information about the new Connections portal will be coming soon, watch your inbox! If you have any feedback or questions about the new Connections portal please contact connectionsportal@webster.edu.

Office 365 Email: More Security, Collaboration, Storage

Users can expect convenient access to email anytime, any place. Better email reliability, enhanced security, increased storage limits, more widespread compatibility, and simplified scheduling across the Webster family with the transition to Office 365 email this fall. More on the email transition will be announced as the rollout date approaches.
