Upcoming CX Maintenance Timeline

The current operating system that powers the CX and JX applications has reached end-of-life in support.

For this reason, Information Technology has been working with Jenzabar to move the systems to fully updated hardware and a new operating system.

This upgrade is happening in accordance with the following timeline:

  • The core CX testing team will be testing functionality of day-to-day operations between July 5-14.
  • Information Technology will be engaging a larger testing group across other business units in the University between July 17-28.
  • If all testing is successful, the new hardware/operating system will go live during the weekend of Aug. 4-6.

No functionality or changes are occurring with the CX or JX applications themselves. This work is only impacting the backend equipment and operating system that runs them. However, testing will still be critical to ensure that the system is fully functional and all business operations can be completed without issue.

This work will have the following impacts:

  • Jenzabar and Information Technology are actively working on this upgrade. For this reason, there is a freeze on any updates to screens, fields, etc. while this work is being completed. This freeze is effective immediately and will last until mid to late August. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. You may still submit requests during this period and Information Technology staff will keep you updated as to progress/status.
  • There will be some CX, JX and CX-Web (Faculty & Student Academic Services) downtime during the weekend of Aug. 4-6. When more specific information and times are known, we will announce this to the community.

This upgrade will not only ensure these applications remain on supported software and hardware but will also enhance disaster recovery processes. We thank you for your patience while we work towards maintaining availability and stability of Webster University’s critical business applications. Please stay tuned for additional updates about this work, testing needs, and system impacts.
