Faculty, Staff and Students Take Advantage of U-Pass Program
Metro U-Pass continues for another year as a benefit to faculty, students and staff

(ST. LOUIS) - The ongoing partnership between Webster University and St. Louis Metro Transit makes it convenient for the University community to have unlimited use of MetroBus and MetroLink  each academic year.

Students, faculty and staff can take advantage of this benefit at no cost to themselves. While the passes can be used at any Metro transit location, as a part of the program, an increased number of bus trips have been added between the Shrewsbury MetroLink station and the front of Webster Hall during peak academic hours.

“Metro transit is a reliable and environmentally friendly way to travel that is accessible for everyone,” said Elizabeth (Beth) J. Stroble, Webster University president. “This program is a wonderful benefit to our students, faculty and staff and we are honored to partner with Metro Transit once again to support the University community in this way.”

The benefit has been popular for students, faculty and staff with an increase in users each year.  In 2014, Metro transit recorded 103,000 passenger boarding counts from Webster University’s U-Pass program and that number increased to 131,000 in 2015.

The new 2017-2018 U-Passes are available at the Webster University Business Office located in Webster Hall, room 101. To obtain and use your 2017-2018 U-Pass:

  • Visit the Business Office with your Webster ID, ensuring the proper sticker for the current semester is adhered to the back.
  • Simply carry both your U-Pass and Webster ID as verification while riding the Metro bus and light rail system.
  • For bus and train schedules, route planning and other information navigating the Metro system, visit metrostlouis.org or the Campus Life section of the University website

This partnership between the University and Metro, in addition to the Enterprise CarShare program, were developed in response to student leaders’ proposals through Delegates Agenda.

The CarShare program is open to qualified students, faculty, and staff ages 18 and up (Ages 18-20 must submit an online Parent Acknowledgement Form). Once a person signs up they have 24/7 access to the vehicle, which is parked at the WVA Clubhouse in a designated spot.
