Fall 2019 Faculty Review Notices

The academic departments for the following faculty members have posted notice of faculty reviews during Fall 2019. This post is updated as additional notices are received.

Please see the text after each faculty member name for instructions and deadlines for submitting testimony. 

Note: Faculty intending to petition for initial status or tenure, as well as promotion, must submit a letter of intent to the Committee to Review Faculty (CRF) no later than Friday, Aug. 30.

Review Criteria

Unless otherwise noted, for each review Webster University faculty, staff and students are invited to submit written and signed testimony relevant to the following criteria:

  • Classroom teaching
  • University contributions
  • Professional activities/contributions
  • Student advising
  • Department contributions/service

Department of Psychology

  • Gary Kannenberg: The Department of Psychology is soliciting testimony for Gary Kannenberg as part of his continuing FDL Status review. Conservatory of Theatre Arts

  • Rayme Cornell: The Conservatory of Theatre Arts is soliciting written testimony for Rayme Cornell’s second year review. Cornell is associate professor of theatre. Department of Music 

The Department of Music solicits written testimony regarding various faculty members undergoing tenure and FDL review in Fall 2019. Testimony is requested in the areas of teaching, service, and professional development. Please send your signed, written testimony by mail to Jeffrey Carter, chair, Department of Music, MU206, no later than Oct. 1, 2019. Signed testimonies submitted by PDF (on letterhead please) are also acceptable when submitted to jeffreycarter67@webster.edu.

  • Jacob Lassetter, associate professor, tenure review. Lassetter teaches applied voice and leads the Opera Theatre program.
  • Matt Pickart, assistant professor, second-year review. Pickart teaches courses in improvisation, music business, applied violin/viola lessons, and in support of the Global Citizenship Program.
  • Carla Colletti, associate professor, five-year FDL renewal. Colletti is Director of Graduate Studies, and Director of Music Theory, teaching courses in music theory and musicianship.
  • Paul Davis, associate professor, five-year FDL renewal. Davis is Director of Instrumental Studies, and leads the Wind Ensemble and Orchestra, in addition to teaching conducting.
  • Martha J. Hart, associate professor, five-year FDL renewal and promotion to professor. Hart is Director of Vocal Studies, teaching applied voice lessons and vocal pedagogy.
  • Daniel Schene, professor, five-year FDL renewal. Schene is Director of Keyboard Studies, teaching applied piano, pedagogy and literature, and courses in chamber music.

George Herbert Walker School of Business & Technology

Department of Management

  • Dustin Smith: The Department of Management is conducting a formal review for tenure and promotion on Dustin Smith, assistant professor of Management. All members of the University community are invited to submit written comments regarding contributions and performance of faculty being reviewed. The criteria for evaluation are: Teaching and student advising; Professional development appropriate to the individual's discipline; Service to the University, academic and professional communities; and Contributions to the Department of Management. Of these, the most heavily weighted component is teaching. Letters should be addressed to Barrett Baebler, associate professor, Department of Management, East Academic Building room 389, 470 E. Lockwood Ave., St. Louis, MO 63119-3194, by Sept. 25, 2019. To be considered by the review committee, comments must be written and signed. Comments may be submitted by email to baeblerb@webster.edu with a hard copy submission mailed.

  • Theodore Green: The Department of Teacher Education solicits written testimony regarding Theodore Green, who is undergoing his five-year FDL renewal in Fall 2019. Testimony is requested in the areas of teaching, service, and professional development.   • Carol Williams: The Department of Teacher Education is conducting a status review for Carol Williams, associate professor of education.  Please submit written, signed comments regarding teaching, professional activities, and contributions to Webster University and professional communities to: c/o: Paula Witkowski or Stephanie Mahfood, Webster University, School of Education, 470 East Lockwood Ave., Webster Groves, MO 63119.   • Zhichun Zhou: The Department of Teacher Education is conducting a second-year review ofZhichun Zhou, assistant professor in the area of applied behavioral analysis. The department welcomes comments about her teaching, professional accomplishments, and service to the university and broader community.
