Webster University has appointed Stacey Hutchens as the Special Assistant to the Chancellor for Advancement Strategy, effective May 1.

Hutchens will assist Webster’s chancellor in developing and guiding a comprehensive and results-oriented advancement plan. The plan will include traditional and innovative strategies that support Webster’s strategic goals and engagement to achieve major gifts and communicate with effectiveness and impact locally, nationally and internationally.

In this role, Hutchens will partner in shaping plans and strategic initiatives for securing major gifts, annual events and appeals, corporate and foundation grants, defining stewardship and prospecting tactics, cultivation events, and developing new approaches to grow Webster’s donor and support base.

“We welcome Stacey to Webster and look forward to her creative collaboration with the Offices of the Chancellor and President, our Advancement Team leads, Global Marketing & Communications, the Board of Trustees Office, the Special Events Office, and many others to shape and assure effective implementation of key aspects of a comprehensive plan to advance Webster,” said Chancellor Elizabeth (Beth) J. Stroble.

Hutchens bring 15 years of experience managing high-profile corporate relationships, individual donors, clients, and projects for both business and non-profit enterprises. She comes to Webster from Saint Louis University, where most recently she was the executive development director for the School of Medicine and Clinical Programs. In that role, she collaborated with faculty, team members, and donors to close major estate gifts and multiyear pledges, and managed special projects to steward donors and potential donors. Previously, she was the development manager for the Delta Gamma Center for Children in St. Louis, following a career in the telecommunications industry.

She holds an MBA from Saint Louis University and a BS of Business Administration from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
