Message from the President and Provost on Events in Bangkok

To the Webster University Community:

We are saddened by the news coming out of Thailand Monday of a deadly explosion at the Erawan Shrine in Bangkok’s main shopping district.

The location is a popular tourist destination about two miles from Webster’s Bangkok Academic Center, where approximately 150 Webster students study. The incident happened in the evening local time and details are still forthcoming. Webster campus leaders are communicating with students, staff and faculty, emphasizing safety and caution. We will continue to monitor this fluid situation.

The entire Webster University network feels the responsibility of our mission, as a worldwide institution, to build the bridges to understanding and healing in circumstances such as these. We ask that you keep in mind our colleagues and friends in Bangkok during this difficult time.
