Global Photo Contest

Students have until Friday, Oct. 30 to submit entries to the global photo contest sponsored by The Center for International Education. This contest, which is co-sponsored by the Department of International Languages and Culture and the International Studies Committee this year, gives students the opportunity to share their global experiences.

There will be three winners in three separate categories. Prizes will be awarded and the winning photographs will be on display in the East Academic Building Edward Jones Commons.

Contest Rules and Eligibility:

  • Entrants must be current Webster students or recent participants of an international Webster University program
  • Photos must be original work taken by the entrant (no edited photos will be accepted)
  • Images must be a resolution of 300 dpi or higher
  • Only .jpg photo format is accepted
  • A completed entry form MUST accompany every entry. Send completed forms to ccastonguay77@webster.edu
  • A maximum of two photographs total will be accepted, only one per category
  • Photos must be free of inappropriate materials including alcohol and cigarettes
  • Photos should be submitted in the following format: "lastname_title_category"

Photos for the photo contest are submitted under the following categories:

  • Nature: Plants, landscapes, waterscapes, wildlife, panoramic views and outdoor activities
  • Architecture: Buildings, cityscapes, landmarks, monuments, or places of interest
  • Cross-Cultural Moments: Cultural events, interaction with host culture, defining moment, fairs, ceremonies, holiday celebrations, local festivals or other cultural activities

Global Photo Contest Winners Reception

A reception celebrating the winners of the contest will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 4:30 p.m. in the East Academic Building Edward Jones Commons. Come meet the photographers and enjoy a light snack.
