Little Rock Sponsors Arkansas HR Conference
Jul. 22, 2015
The Little Rock Area campuses recently sponsored the Central Arkansas Human Resources Association’s (CAHRA) Annual Conference, hosting 135 managers and supervisors from across Central Arkansas as they learned how their role impacts their companies’ human resources functions.
Both first time and veteran managers attended sessions on EEOC function, Discrimination Lawsuits, Discipline Documentation, General Role of the Supervisor, Generational Differences, National Labor Relations Act, and Engaging Employees.
This is a yearly conference that CAHRA offers in an effort to better equip managers for the changing legislation and techniques to best serve the employees and their company. Webster not only served as the presenting sponsor, but also provided a breakout session speaker.
Carmen Hall, assistant director at the Little Rock Air Force Base campus location, offered insight on the topic of Engaging Employees. In this session, participants discussed the need for engagement and possible ways to engage employees from all walks of life. They also discussed the pitfalls of not engaging employees.
“It was an honor to be invited to present and further our support of CAHRA,” said Hall. “With both Little Rock campuses offering Human Resources degrees, partnering with CAHRA provides a variety opportunities for our students, graduates, faculty and staff.”
Webster is an established partner of CAHRA and the Little Rock campus locations have provided training space for CAHRA to conduct PHR/SPHR certification classes for several years.
